The Brno 2, or ZKM-452, was designed to update and improve upon the original Model 1, production began in 1953 and continued until around 2011, with a few minor changes to the basic design and a name change to the CZ 452. Owners of the more modern CZ 22LR will find that it shares much in common with the CZ 452 - and yet shoots just as well. The Brno barrels are made to last, even when they have to fire only soft lead bullets at relatively low velocities. The Brno 2 was produced in a number of variations, including heavy "varmint" barrels, reduced sizes for young shooters, and even a full-length version. Timeless Design of the Brno 2
As with most Brno rifles, it is usually easy to identify the year of manufacture by the last two numbers of the year stamped on the left side of the receiver.
The carbon steel barrel, which may be either hammer-forged or hammer-pressed depending on when it was made, is threaded into the receiver frame (the exception being the newer rifles chambered for the .17 HM2 round, where the barrel is bolted in place).
Magazines typically have a 5- or 10-round capacity, although 15- or 25-round magazines are available.
The advantage of the Brno Model 2 is that the magazine design is made to be interchangeable with magazines from more modern Brno equivalents.
The first magazines were made of stamped steel, and today cheaper magazines made of polymer are produced.
Today the Brno name has given way to the CZ name, but otherwise the brand has changed little and is still subject to the same strict levels of quality control.
Caliber 22LR
Barrel length -60cm.
Stock length from the first trigger - 34.5 cm.
Weapon weight: 2,900 g.
The caliber is 22 LR - 5.6 mm with manual reloading. The barrel is 60 cm long and is rifled with six grooves and six fields. It is made of high-quality steel. The bolt is specially designed for the model and ensures absolute reliability and safety. When the trigger is pressed and the bolt is closed, a smooth lowering of the striker is ensured. It is especially important not to click empty, because the needle hits the back of the chamber and is knocked down. The safety reliably blocks the striker. The magazine holds five cartridges. The sight is graduated from 25 to 200 meters in 25. The front sight has a sunshade. The sight is adjusted horizontally, and the front sight vertically. The total length of the weapon is 108 cm. The weight is 3.1 kg. The effective shooting range with the rifle is from 75 to 100 meters. With high-speed quality cartridges, it can be shot at longer distances. The rifle has no recoil. The sound of the shot is weaker due to the long barrel. The trigger is soft.
